I called a day prior to make reservations for 20 and most importantly to make sure they had dahi papdi chaat on their thali menu, the management readily agreed to make sure it was on the menu for us.
The ambiance of this place gives a royal feeling to anyone dining here, it is simple yet elegant. Once we all settled in, the plates came in and the starters started to come after a while.
Dahi papdi chaat came first and it was the only dish I kept filling my stomach with! the curd is rich, papdi crisp and the channa good. It is one dish anyone dining here should not miss eating. However, when we kept asking him to bring more of it, the standard reduced, eventually it was dahi and papdi without the channa, green chutney and red chutney.
They also had cheese aloo thandoori, rajma kebab and paneer tikka for starters. The paneer tikka was my next favourite. The capsicum served along with it complimented them really well. Aloo is not my favourite so did not bother much about it. The Rajma kebab was something different.
For the main course they had naan, roti and hyderabadi biryani. It was served with makhani dal, aloo tamatar, paneer lababdar and diwani handi. The paneer lababdar was sweet which I did not prefer, aloo tamatar was alright, the dal makhani was good and the diwani handi with paneer and vegetables was my favourite!
The hyderabadi biryani was good when mixed with the mint chutney which was given along with starters.
Finally, for dessert, we had options of either mango, strawberry or chocolate ice cream. Nice thick and rich kheer was also a part of the dessert menu.
The thali menu seemed nominal than the prices covered by al-a-carte. Good service and good food made my day! I wasn’t hungry even for dinner that day.
