I am still coming to terms with the fact that I am no longer a student and now a working professional who stares at my laptop all day! The only thing which makes me happy is drooling over pictures of food and finding places I can go to. That is exactly how I came across Bombay Blends 🙂
The fact that it is newly opened took my curiosity and excitement to another level. This place is situated a little ahead of Plan B, the address in Zomato shows plan b on google maps. Anyway spotting the place was easy.
The ambiance is uhhh nothing exciting but really neat with a lot of white, white walls white tales and black chairs. There is a huge wall picture containing all the famous places of Bombay before Independence. Only this picture and the wide variety of Falooda’s would be the only connection to the name ‘Bombay Blends’!
From the menu we ordered, Potato wedges, Mozzarella cheese pizza and Royal fry fruit falooda.
Potato wedges came within minutes of settling down, the whole bowl of potato wedges was crisp to perfection and it stayed crisp till we slowly completed it. The taste was good with seasonings, crisp on the outer and soft inside, I only wish they added more seasonings and for sides mayonnaise.
The falooda took a while to arrive but it was worth the wait, It came in a tall glass with kesar kulfi ice cream, a lot of vermicelli, pista, cashew nuts, badam, jelly, cooked white tapioca pearls.
When the pizza came my friend said “my kind of heaven!” The presentation of the pizza looked like an attempt we make at home to make pizza, the crust was very thick, filled with capsicum, tomatoes and onions all covered with a layer of melted cheese. The taste was good with spiciness but definitely not worth INR 170.
Overall, the new place is good for a good stop for quick bites but the place did not meet my expectation in terms of ambiance and service. The potato wedges is the only thing which left a mark on me.
I apologize for the poor quality of pictures.
