Panthi is the Sanskrit name for “traveller”. It is been quite a while now this place has opened in Karve nagar, Pune. This place has both indoor and outdoor seating, I was apprehensive about sitting outside because of the dreading summer sun but the huge tree in the entrance gives an excellent shade.
There are no exclusive people for taking and serving orders. When studying their menu, they had the normal dishes available in an Italian cafe but their beverages caught my attention!! they have even introduced summer chillers with very innovating and attention catching names. We ordered White lily and Hazelnut coffee.
For starters, onion rings and garlic bread with cheese. For Mains, Tikkashikka Sandwich and spaghetti napolitano. All our orders came within 10-15 minutes, the onion rings was crisp and not very oily and their garlic bread with cheese was good too.
Their Tikkashikka sandwich was grilled and had a chicken filling with spices. It tasted good but their quantity was a disappointment for their price. Lastly, their spaghetti was good with a sweet tomato sauce base, it came with cheese and coriander garnish and to compliment it they gave four slices of bread with butter spread over it. The bread would have been better if they had toasted it well.
The hazelnut cold coffee was good and the White lily was simply out of the world!! It had litchi flavour topped with ice cubes, a perfect drink for the summers!
The bill came to around Rs.550, the place is good for a evening hangout or a stop for a quick bite. The owner seems to like travelling as much as food!!
