China Gate

I remember going to this place when I was in my 1st year of college but stopped visiting this place eventually. This used be the first place in my mind whenever anyone wanted to eat Chinese. Visiting this place three years later, I must say, this place has improved a lot!! It is clean and better lighted. The people working here are always warm and their service is good. My friend and I walked in for lunch at 2 p.m. and still the place was full. This place has a combination of both the young as well as family crowd. We started with Veg Manchow soup.

The soup came with fried noodles. Soup was filled with chopped onions and garlic and made my sore throat feel good!! The fried noodles wasn’t crisp, when we asked the waiter for a replacement, he said they are made in the morning at one go and even if he replaces it, it won’t be crisp! For starters we had Mongolian chicken and for main course we had chicken flat noodles, a Malaysian type of noodles.
The head waiter is polite and patient to suggest dishes from the menu according to our liking. I am not sure if it was the air conditioner or the fact that kitchen was closing the food served was cold, it wasn’t even warm  although the food wasn’t hot, the food tasted really good! The Mongolian chicken was in the perfect degree of tenderness. I honestly couldn’t judge the taste of the chicken; it was neither spicy nor tangy nor bland.
Since the flat noodles were bland, the noodles and Mongolian chicken made a very good combination. The noodles had small pieces of chicken, baby corn, cabbage, capsicum, perfectly round in shape thin sliced carrot all tossed slightly in sauce. They give huge quantity of food.
Since their kitchen was closing, the staff started being diplomatically rude! The bill was given to us even before we asked for it and we were only halfway through our main course. The staff quickly disappeared after we paid the bill and we showed ourselves out after we were done with our lunch
They have both indoor and outdoor seating with average Chinese interiors. The place is not perfect but one can have a decent Chinese food experience.
